Today I practiced the pronunciation of the Spanish alphabet. I know that there is a pronunciation quiz on the ABC's tomorrow. Today I completed the speaking activities #12 with a partner. I also did the listening activities 13 and 14. I did the written assignment 15 and 16.
Today we continued to practice the correct pronunciation of the ABC's. I know that I will have a pronunciation test on them on Tuesday, 9/16. I was introduced the the "useful classroom phrases" on page 14 in the textbook. I also did the below assignment with a partner. Actividades para todos pages 1-6. I know that this is due on Tuesday.

The answers are on the document below. We did actividad 3, an audio exercise. The answers are below. I had the opportunity to pick out a Spanish name if I wanted one. I learned how to introduce myself and ask other for their names. The vocabulary words and phrases that were introduced to me are below. Como te llamas - What is your name? The vocabulary and phrases were in the dialogues on pages 4-5 that we listened to and practiced pronouncing. I know the sound that each Spanish vowel makes and the correct position of my mouth to produce that sound: A - fAther (mouth open, jaw relaxed) E - thEy (mouth open, sideways oval shaped) I - machIne (corners of mouth tight, smiling) O - hOme (mouth makes an "O" shape) U - sUsan (mouth makes an "o" shape, bottom lip tight) H is silent V=B, B=V I know these greetings . . . hola- hi buenos día- good morning buenas tardes- good afternoon buenas noches- good evening I know these farewells . . . The textbook pages needed to complete this are posted. I took a pretest for Spanish 1 today.
We took a tour through our textbook to learn how we are going to use it. We established motivational forces for studying Spanish. They included; travel, careers, social opportunities, communicating in another language and expanding what we know about English. |
