1. Hay que (infinitive). This is used when there is no specific subject.
Hay que estudiar para sacar buenas notas.
(you have to study to get good grades.)
2. Tener que (infinitive). This is used when a specific subject is emphasized.
Tenemos que leer el libro para la clase de literatura.
We have to read the book for literature class
